Muscat, Oman

A single string, remote, land-drilling operation in Jordan, and a programme that built to 6 onshore rigs drilling vertical and horizontal wells in Oman. Both operations involve hard rock drilling at high temperatures. Restructured team in preparation for ramp-up in activity. Established a Continuous Improvement Plan, standardised drilling programme and organisational learning process – this has resulted in average well times reducing by around 25%.

Baku, Azerbaijan

Managed 4 diverse teams - 2 groups of technical specialists (Equipment Integrity Assurance and Fluids & Cementing), a Planning and Performance Team (performance tracking, analysis and insights), and a Project Services Team (OMS, Risk Management, Data Management and Bly Implementation). Understood stakeholder expectations and needs and set direction for team to deliver against these. Set targets for safety and operational delivery at the BP owned, contractor operated Advanced Fluid Facility. Technical Authority for Well Control and Breaking Containment. Provided face to face Training in use of Well Control Response Guide, and developed blowout contingency plans.

Baku, Azerbaijan

Focused on standardisation across the three new build platform cyber rigs. Refreshed the Wells BOD, developed a drillpipe management strategy, drove the Technical Limit and Knowledge Management process and provided Wells inputs to Long Term Plan.

Egypt

Saqqara Project (a 4 well, sour service NUI development in the Gulf of Suez). Joined the multidisciplinary team during the Appraise stage of the project, and managed the D&C aspects through to project sanction, and start of drilling. Developed well basis of design, defined well costs, and recruited a D&C team. Compiled decision support package for overall Project Define stage.

Magnus platform. Brought into team to address weaknesses identified in the way that the team was working with others, and gaps in the well planning process. Implemented Common Process (BP’s Well Planning Process) within the team and created a performance focused culture with commonly understood goals and objectives.

Magnus EOR project. Redesigned injection wells for higher pressure service. Compiled Decision Support Packages for overall project Define and Execute stage gates. Completed front end engineering, design and procurement for the Level 5 multilateral water injector well drilled from Magnus.

Magnus platform. Prepared well programmes, casing design, HSE submissions, cost estimates and end of well reports, including Through Tubing Rotary Drilling (a first for BP in the N Sea).

Colombia

Completed feasibility study and vendor selection for multilateral wells. Supervised work and development of Operations engineers for two rigs. Performed engineering and value analysis of foam and nitrified mud drilling.
