Directly reporting to the Board of Directors, I plan, develop, implement and direct the organisation’s operational and fiscal function and performance. I establish a collaborative environment and strategic partnership approach in developing and implementing the company’s plans and programs. I provide accurate analysis of budgets, reports and financial trends and operational procedures to the Board. I create, improve, implement and enforce policies and procedures of the organisation to improve operational effectiveness and program implementation. I also communicate effectively and establish credibility throughout the organisation and with the Board of Directors as an effective developer of solutions to challenges.I provide strategic input and leadership on decision making issues affecting the organisation, especially in terms of all art-form programs including performance program, exhibition program, micro-festivals, workshops and professional development programs. To meet operating needs, I work with the finance team to develop a solid cash flow projection and reporting mechanism, which includes setting a minimum cash threshold. To plan for continual improvements and a continual increase of operating efficiencies, I evaluate the company’s financial, operational and program development and implementation. Finally, I oversee and provide leadership in organising and implementing programs across art-forms. Key Achievements:• Established the Metro Arts Future Fund - a multi-million-dollar fund, presently being managed by Perpetual Private. • Created the vision and led project management for the new Metro Arts @ West Village establishing the arts precinct in this unique urban renewal precinct. This included creating strong partnerships with Sekisui House and Hutchinsons builders.• Created the multi-state Emerging Producer Xchange through the sponsorship of the Ian Potter Foundation. • Structured and managed the growth of Metro Arts’ Development department.

Directly reporting to the CEO, I collaborated and provided assistance in overseeing all programming for the organisation. For the organisation and independent artists, I led the producing platform as well as planned and developed major projects. I established strong relationships with clients, sponsors and stakeholders and finalised negotiation for contracts. For major projects, I managed allocated finances of the organisation in line with effective resource management. I maintained coordination and communication with contracted artists ensuring they were well-informed of projects. Considering target objectives, I collaborated with the marketing and production teams to effectively organise, implement and complete projects.

One of the Managing Producers working under the MAPS Australia Council Initiative I employed creativity in producing new independent contemporary work whilst working with a group of performers. For the organisation, I implemented production programs and completed projects and initiatives. I managed independent artists as well as executed long-term strategic planning for careers. I also performed management and budgeting including fundraising and grand-writing. Finally, I represented the organisation and artists during events including Long Paddock, ArTour Conferences, APACA Conferences, APAM and IPAY in the USA.

Bleach* Festival is the largest arts and culture festival on the Gold Coast. In some of its key growth years, I managed and oversaw all activities directly related to productions and commissions as well as coordinated and supplied appropriate resources to achieve successful Festivals. I maintained active interactions and connections with key sponsors; and worked closely with marketing and PR teams. I planned and directed activities and production designs as well as created work schedules for direct reports and coordinated specific staffing and other necessary resources. In addition, I ensured all teams were working effectively towards business goals through support and guidance to team members. I performed responsibilities such as grant-writing and fundraising, delivery of key projects and commissions.

As the Toowoomba Empire Theatre launched its new performance space, The Armitage Centre, it was my responsibility to accommodate the request of programming the opening and first month’s events. Whilst developing and implementing programs in line with curatorial vision maintaining strong collaboration with the production and marketing teams. I also oversaw contract negotiation and finalisation as well as ensured the logistics for visiting artists.
