My educational experience began in a high school resource room. I have also taught elementary general education. My current teaching assignment is at a middle school where I teach 7th and 8th grade ELA and science. Because of my broad pedagogical experiences, I have developed a deep understanding of student support needed to gain access to grade-level standards. I'm constantly seeking to answer the question, "What matters most?" This has led me on a journey that resulted in a deep understanding of UDL, standards, John Hattie’s Visible Learning, High Leverage Practices, and how these elements of education intersect with equity to provide the best outcomes for all students. Together, all of these frameworks make for deep learning that is meaningful and relevant in our 21st-century world.
