Among the highlights of my work at the College of Medicine was overseeing the research information management system, Pure by Elsevier. I served as one of three steering committee members and as the primary data steward, ensuring information in the system is clean and working with other teams to connect via API to use this information as our "gold standard" for research output and faculty collaboration information. I also helped to lead both the development and the marketing effort for StudyFinder, the University’s clinical trials database. The StudyFinder project brings together clinical research taking place at multiple Penn State campuses in a way that is easy for both referring physicians and members of the public to use. Not only did recruitment increase thanks to my work, more investigators learned how they can use digital tools to better promote their research and reach a more diverse study population. Most of all, I'm proud to have served as the primary accessibility champion for the College of Medicine, ensuring all digital content could be accessed by people with a variety of disabilities or differences, and as a leader of the college's special-interest groups for LGBTQ+ and disability populations. In addition, I served as part of a subcommittee of the Select Penn State Presidential Commission on Racism, Bias and Community Safety, which focused on completing a full diversity, equity and inclusion inventory for the University.
