Joey is a leader in Deloitte's Internet Regulation practice, a global team of risk, legal, economics and other specialists all focused on internet and digital regulations and laws. She specialises in media, technology, internet and social media, digital content risks and IP. She acts both as a lawyer and a risk advisor and leads regulatory, advisory and contentious projects in the TMT sector. She is a subject matter expert in trust and safety for digital companies and the incoming regulation and laws for internet business, from AI to metaverse and issues such as online safety and consumer protection. She advises in relation to advertising, IP/copyright, harmful/illegal content, disinformation, defamation, copyright and brand, reputation management and media and entertainment. Joanna's Internet Regulation team won the FT Innovative Lawyers Europe award 2022 for the innovative approach to internet regulation and she won a personal commendation. In 2023 they followed that success, winning the Highly Commended award for 'TMT Team of the Year' at the Legal Business Awards. The team is ranked as a leading firm in the Legal 500 Directory in 2024 for media and internet regulation and Joey is noted for her expertise in content risks. Joey authors the Media & Entertainment Law Review for the UK and is a well-know speaker and thought-leader on TMT and internet regulation. She is a diversity and inclusion champion and co-leads “Women in IP" at IP Inclusive. She is a WIPR Influential Woman in IP and member of the Law Society's Intellectual Property Committee.
