Department of Engineering Mathematics

I founded MI-NET, a pan-European initiative to support industrial maths networking activities across 32 countries, funded via a Horizon 2020 COST Action TD1409 http://mi-network.org/ @maths4industry. MI-NET sponsored over 40 events, including new workshops in Cyprus, Israel, Lithuania, and Slovenia.

I led the commercial activities and the day-to-day operational management of the Bath Institute for Mathematical Innovation (IMI), including setting up from scratch a new mathematics knowledge exchange team.

As the Manager of MACSI, the Mathematics Applications Consortium for Science and Industry, I led engagement with industry, and managed MACSI's portfolio of projects. I coordinated and co-authored over €10m of successful research funding proposals, and led the organisation of two European Study Groups (problem-solving workshops) with Industry in 2012 and 2013.

Through an individual fellowship, funded by the Irish Research Council for Science, Engineering, and Technology, I carried out research in the area of nonlinear dynamics and chaos, in particular impacting systems with applications to noise and vibration problems in mechanical engineering.

MACSI, the Mathematics Applications Consortium for Science and Industry.I founded the first Women in Mathematics day in Ireland and co-organised three European Study Groups with Industry workshops.
