I’m an experienced trauma-informed educator with a deep commitment to helping people become grounded in their bodies in order to move towards deeper connection, healing and social justice.My approach combines sociology, race equity psychology, somatics-informed movement, and trauma-informed yoga. This unique blend is often missing in race equity work, which can limit its effectiveness. Racism is ingrained not just in society but also within our bodies. We can't overcome it by simply intellectualising or ignoring our emotions—we need to reconnect with the language of the body.When we are rooted in our bodily experience and in tune with our emotions, especially in challenging situations, we build the capacity to embrace vulnerability and take meaningful action against racism and other forms of oppression.Before founding Move Rooted, I led race equity work at the University of Cambridge, achieving Race Equality Charter Bronze recognition in 2019, and at the Royal Society of Chemistry. Currently, I support Higher Education Institutions as a Race Equality Charter Associate at Advance HE.
