The Character Community Foundation of York Region is made up of volunteers and leaders from the community, government, education and business sectors who are committed to making York Region a Character Community by nurturing positive character attributes and enhancing York Region as a desirable place to live, learn, work, and play.

As the Fund Development Coordinator I help to raise money and awareness of the Alzheimer Society of York Region by helping to organize signature events like Coffee Break, Walk for Memories and the Golf Classic. I also work with and support individuals who organize their own events to raise awareness and funds for the Alzheimer Society of York Region. My main focus is to work on the Building Memories Campaign to raise 8.5 million dollars to build a centre of excellence in York Region to support individuals with Alzheimer's, and other related dementia's, and their families/caregivers. My primary duties are cultivation and solicitation of potential major gift donors and special event coordination.

As the Coordinator of Events and Volunteers I was responsible for the development, organization, implementation and evaluation of all fundraising events and volunteer programs. I organized their signature Indulge Your Senses events in communities throughout the province, conceived and executed their inaugural Dining In The Dark event and worked with and supported community partners with their third-party events while recruiting and managing all volunteers including the Board of Directors and Board Committees throughout the province of Ontario.

I was the Fundraising Coordinator working out of the Major Mackenzie office located in Richmond Hill and I supported the communities of Vaughan, Woodbridge, King City, Nobleton, Kleinburg, Maple, Thornhill and Richmond Hill. Previous to working for the Canadian Cancer Society's Major Mackenzie office, I was a volunteer at the Holland River office supporting the Fundraising Coordinator.As the Fundraising Coordinator, I organized a number of signature events for CCS including the B.E.A.T. Cancer Ride, Relay For Life, Daffodil Days and the Residential Campaign. I also helped/supported Community Partners who were organizing their own events to raise money for the Canadian Cancer Society. These included, but were not limited to Gala Party's, Golf Tournaments, Garage Sales and Walkathons.

I was the Office Manager for the franchise owners of SNAP Aurora, SNAP Woodbridge and SNAP Vaughan East.While working for SNAP Aurora, SNAP Vaughan and SNAP Woodbridge I performed a broad range of secretarial and administrative duties, utilized my accounting skills for invoicing and processing cash receipts, composed letters and other correspondence as necessary, made appointments and scheduled meetings, AR collections, input and updated advertisers and distribution points into Exposure, ACT and spreadsheets, coordinated editorial content, booked ad briefs, collected all ad changes and approvals for existing clients, collected artwork and liaised with designer for ad approvals and changes, assisted with proofing of ads, editorials and articles and provided superior customer service to all clients and perspective clients.

While working at CDI as the Employment Specialist, I helped the students gain meaningful employment upon graduation. While the students were at CDI, I facilitate a number of workshops on resume writing and job search techniques that would give the students what they needed to do a successful job search. I would help the students in whatever ways I could to help them be successful and find the job they were looking for when they graduated.
