As a telecom and photonics Ph.D. my research interest are focused at Telecommunications Systems, Optical communications, 5G, Microwave Photonics, Free-space communications (FSO, VLC, OCC, Li-Fi ...), information theory and quantum optics (QKD, ...). Also, I believe in knowledge transfer as the key tool to transform society from Academia and R&D. My main outcomes in the advanced communications research area are:- Optical communications networks, Microwave Photonics and Wireless optical communications (sensor networks, terahertz generation, ...)- Integration of advanced communications technologies ( Radio-over-Fibre, Free Space Optical communications, Visible Light Communications, Optical camera communications, UWB, WiMAX, LTE, OLED and OLED for comms, FSO-o-Fibre,...) in heterogeneous networks (IoT, 5G networks, ...)- Quantum key distribution for access networks (QKD, ...). I have a deep belief that academia training via lecturing and supervision is key to shape future generations with the proper tools to transform our society from our technology perspective. Moreover, I have a special interest in the impact of ICT on SME, R+I management, knowledge transfer at industry-academia. Following those, I have obtained the ITIL v3 Foundation certificate and formation on IT and Communications specific research line management and project support.
