Reporting directly to the Program Coordinator, the Program Assistant supports the administrative operations of the 44 Manitoba Youth Job Centre (MYJC) offices. Responsibilities include assisting student Youth Engagement Leaders with job centre operations; processing financial, narrative and statistical reports; assisting in the administration of training; planning meetings and office visits, monitoring staff activities, and developing and coordinating materials and promotional events.

The Youth Engagement Leader is a student hired by their local Sponsoring Committee with approval from MYJC staff. Under the direction of the Program Coordinator, this person operates a community job centre. Duties include:- Setting up and organizing a local MYJC office according to program guidelines- Promoting the services of MYJC to potential employers, youth, students and community groups through personal visits, advertising and presentations- Encouraging and receiving job orders from employers - Receiving employment registrations from students and unemployed youth- Operating a matching and referral service to provide employers with suitable youth for available jobs- Recording statistical information on the centre's activities (students/youth registrations, referrals, job orders received, Odd Job Squad, placements, community relations) and preparing weekly and monthly statistical reports- Preparing bi-weekly narrative reports that include information on promotional activities and special events- Preparing bi-weekly financial reports detailing expenses incurred- Providing students/youth with information on job search skills and career options through classroom presentations, personal sessions, handouts and other printed resources- Providing students/youth and employers, on a request basis, with information on government and community service programs- Organize and run casual employment activities for students and youth aged 12-16
