Responsible for managing all supply functions, procure, receive, stow, issue, and inventory material. In addition, perform inspection and audit of all supply areas, maintain financial records and reports, take corrective action on financial discrepancies, and make budget-related recommendations.  In addition, maintain supply management computer systems data, generate required reports, and maintain supply system integrity.Perform functions related to material procurement, financial accounting, administration, technical research, audits, and inspections. Perform and oversee warehousing functions including receipt, storage, and the issue of materials, conduct and oversee ordering, issuing, inventorying, and tracking of repairable assets. In addition, prepare requisitions for material outside normal supply channels, liaise with vendors, contractors, and husbanding agents, formulate load-out plans for deployments, and conduct and maintain supply activity inventories and postal services.

Professional Apprenticeship Career Tracks (PACT) is a program designed for enlisted Sailors to enter into an apprenticeship program that provides apprentice-level formal training and on the job training that leads to a permanent rate/career field within two years. It is a great program for those individuals who are unsure what specific career field interests them at their initial time of enlistment. Every rating belongs to one of the three areas in the PACT Program and has credentials related to them.Boatswain's Mates (BM) conduct, direct, supervise, and train ship handling, anchoring, mooring and towing operations, small boat operations, underway replenishment, amphibious operations, flight deck operations, crane operations, cargo handling, lifesaving equipment handling, rigging, deck seamanship, painting and preservation, marlinespike seamanship, and related equipment maintenance and administration.
