Profile bio

About Jo Cheah

I am currently a Senior Clinical Trials Pharmacist at Alfred Health in Melbourne. I help manage hundreds of clinical trial projects across numerous medical specialties, including haematology and oncology. I love to stay active and am an amateur runner and cyclist. I keep busy exploring Melbourne's food and coffee scene and am always looking forward to new travelling adventures. I've worked in healthcare for over 15 years and during that time I've had a wide range of experience. I chose pharmacy as a career based on my passion for science and helping others. One day I’d like to have a greater impact on the healthcare industry and how healthcare is delivered to the wider community. I am a resident host for the Australian Prescriber Podcast. I interview medical professionals in their areas of expertise. I’m proud that I can contribute to the continuing education of healthcare workers. It has been a unique and valuable experience, and with each interview, I am pushed out of my comfort zone. Passionate about helping those in need, I've sought out opportunities to volunteer for various events and organisations including Save the Children and the Rotary Australia-Vietnam Dental project which provides free dental care to children in rural Vietnam. I am a volunteer mentor for Pharmacy students through the Monash University Industry Mentor Program. I understand the big picture, but I'm excellent at detail-orientated work and can quickly and effectively adapt to new and challenging working environments. I love working in a team, with the ability to learn from, mentor and support one another. I love to be challenged and don't like feeling too comfortable. I am drawn to innovative work systems that improve efficiency and productivity. I’m passionate about seeing projects through from inception to fruition.

Listed skills include Team Leadership, Hospitals, Public Speaking, Pharmacy, and 13 others.
