How do data, models, and algorithms describe reality and optimally inform our decision-making? And how can we support business functions as well as the people affected by those decisions in conscientious ways to make a sustainable impact? These questions that lie at the interface of data and people are both what have sparked my professional passions and what will continue to drive my career as it evolves.During my studies of physics and my subsequent PhD, I had my first encounters with data-related work. This experience has only grown and become more multifaceted through various data science-related roles in industry, equipping me with a broad and yet deep understanding of the main pillars along the data lifecycle. For instance, my expertise in data science includes advanced analytical methods, data management & governance, business intelligence as well as data education and roll-out of solutions. Altogether, the past decade provided me with the ability to simultaneously deep-dive into algorithms and code as well as translate critical details into a broader picture for senior management.Nevertheless, a model is only as good as its accuracy in describing the ground reality. Therefore, my interests have always centered the human experience and how it can be affected by data-driven choices. In fact, and more generally, I really appreciate interacting with people - not only on consumer side but also within the enablement departments I have been part of. For me, bringing colleagues together is not only a means to enable agile data operations across teams, but reflects a strong personal drive. Importantly, I also appreciate the value of resolve and know how to provide the right motivation to encourage continued progress, even in the face of change. After all, leading means caring.
