About Jodi Engels

Growing up on a farm in North Dakota the youngest of 10 children shaped my values and passions. It fostered my sense of integrity that guides everything do. My love of animals, particularly horses, and of nature instilled in me a deep desire to understand behavior and protect those who cannot protect themselves. Throughout my life, I have been drawn to working with individuals who face challenges in understanding and navigating the world around them. My curiosity about behavior ultimately led me to pursue a degree in psychology with honors, followed by specialized graduate training in school psychology. My journey has taken me through various roles, including working in non-profits, schools, and animal shelters, all of which have given me valuable experiences in serving diverse populations. You can count on me to bring a sense of calm, sensitivity, and empathy to every interaction. I enjoy collaborating within multidisciplinary teams, coming up with creative and individualized solutions to promote the well-being of those I serve. My adaptability and resourcefulness have been tested through various life challenges and relocations, proving I can handle change with grace. I find solace in nature and with animals, just like that little farm girl, and horsemanship is still a passion. I believe that nurturing my own well-being through activities like riding horse, yoga, and taking my dog on long walks equips me to better serve others.
