I was part of a community of people with learnt and lived experiences of homelessness, as well as academic and practical knowledge of participation that share skills, experience and knowledge, working together to create a more equitable society, without homelessness.

I worked for this fantastic organisation for three months as Campaigns Manager, focusing on two campaigns: one on promoting trauma informed practice in healthcare and the other on supporting the Department for Work and Pensions to improve how they work with people experiencing homelessness.I had a personal epiphany on starting the role and realised that I had to give it up to create the space I needed to rebalance my life in ways that were bigger than my work.

My focus was on supporting Brighton & Hove (that's the local authority, local charities, faith organisations, community groups and others!) to get better at coproducing homelessness projects and services with people with experience of homelessness.In 2020, whilst coordinating a meal delivery service for people experiencing homelessness living in the 'Everyone In' hotels, I co-founded a creative Zine that aimed to create a community and alleviate the mental health struggles of the hotel residents. Also in lockdown, I built the foundations for a Peer Research Network that advocates for people with lived experience of homelessness to be taking the lead in analysing what's needed locally, being consulted and creating solutions based on evidence and experience.I spent a lot of time in this role building informal connections and encouraging collaboration between different people and projects trying to support people experiencing homelessness. I mapped a lot of these projects in an open document which formed the basis for the online directory Street Support Brighton & Hove.In what was a very varied role, I also hosted events and conversations including on neurodiversity for the Frontline Network and on death for Homeless Link.

I worked as Engagement Worker for Justlife Brighton supporting people living in emergency accommodation to stay alive, build support networks and move upwards through the housing pathway to stable accommodation.I also coordinated the Brighton & Hove Frontline Network in partnership with St. Martin's Frontline Network where I worked with a small team to programme a thriving calendar of events bringing together frontline homelessness workers from a diverse array of the city's homelessness organisations to meet, collaborate and problem solve.

I tried to become a primary school teacher and it didn't work out but I learned a lot along the way!

I worked as a TA with a focus on supporting children with English as a second language. I also ran an awesome Japanese after school club!

I worked for an amazing school in Guatemala, teaching 5-6 year olds as part of a bilingual programme.

I project managed design and implementation of new website from start to finish, ran email marketing, managed Google Ad campaigns and did SEO.
