• Led on all business development, marketing and sales activities in a highly regulated sector.: accountable for P&L, Bid/No Bid Governance, compliance, and
KPI reporting on a Tier 1 COMAH and SSSI site. • Following several years poor and unstable profitability, took the operating division from a £32k net loss to making a £1.1m net contribution in 2019. • Led all the business development activities for the provision of services and capability resulting in long-term relationships with Europe's largest missile manufacturing company, the UK’s premier maritime high-tech company operating in the fields of hydro-acoustics, sensor engineering and information technology. • Negotiated, secured and implemented contracts with specialist departments within the Ministry of Defence, the Home Office and the Department for Trade. • Developed and implemented plans for key customers that built deeper understanding of their needs, gaining their trust in order to expand those relationships by offering value-adding solutions that exceeded expectations in revenue retention/growth, account profitability, and customer satisfaction. • Managing the bid writing process from identification or receipt of Request for Tender to final submission, including defining the response strategy, planning inputs, layout and writing submissions, incorporating technical inputs while cross-checking against the scoped requirement, producing the final submission as well as presenting the bid to the customer. • Devised and implemented on-site project activity, including monitoring budgets, allocating resources, motivating and managing project team members to deliver customer satisfaction on time and within budget.

Head of Strategic Integrated Assessments, US Central Command, USA: 2010-12. Led a multidisciplinary team (15) of US Military, US Government civilians, NATO military and civilian PhD-level experts that delivered predictive, prescriptive and integrated analysis, macro-economic and modelling assessments to the US Command Board. Assistant Director Transformation, Permanent Joint Headquarters: 2009-10. Core member of Permanent Joint Headquarters Transformation Project Board that delivered 10% staff savings across the Headquarters and as Senior Information Officer established improved information governance and risk assurance regimes that enhanced the Board’s decision-making.Head of Counter Narcotics Strategic Plans, British Embassy, Kabul: 2008-09. Senior Military liaison officer between the Afghanistan Government and NATO military command structure facilitating collaboration between the Afghan Government, US State Department, United Nations and local Afghan community leaders to create security, development, and governance solutions as part of the wider counter-narcotics effort during the on-going large-scale military operation.Director Human Resources & Infrastructure: 2006-08. Led the delivery of support services to a community of 1,000+ military personnel, their families and civilian agencies and Senior Project Board member for the £150M capital redevelopment project, ensured time, quality and cost targets were met while routine day-to-day business continued with minimal disruption leading to transformation in service delivery, team ethos and customer care; exploited spare capacity within the estate and airfield operations and secured £6M income from commercial activities.Assistant Director Strategic Planning & Resources, MoD: 2004-06. Strategic and Operational planner responsible to the executive boards of the Royal Air Force and the Ministry of Defence for the strategic analysis of financial and resource management information.

Selected for Executive talent stream (top 5%) to attend 12-month MA programme at the Defence Academy, Shrivenham. Run by Kings College London, the curriculum prepared officers for senior leadership positions. Focused on national security and international relations, it majored on strategic planning, advanced problem solving, change and project management, economic and financial management.

An eclectic career comprising operational, project and change management, HR and training delivery and consultancy experience in complex and demanding environments. Highlights include Ministry of Defence, Service Personnel Policy Strategy, responsible for developing the UK’s first Armed Forces Overarching Personnel Strategy and supporting executive and board-level committees responsible for its delivery. The introduction of the Strategy bought alignment to disparate practices across the three Services to maximize the output efficiency of a reducing workforce within a decreasing Treasury allocation.
