About Joe Eason
I live for the exploration of imagination, the impact of cultural representation, and the joy of creative collaboration.I worked as an actor throughout my childhood and adolescence and so, upon leaving school, founded my own theatre company- "VF Theatre Co."- acting as both managing and artistic director. Over two years I produced five live shows, and workshopped two more to different stages of pre-production. The final show produced in this two year cycle was an original musical, "1,000 Suns", created with a passionate team of young creatives. I led this project as lead producer, writer, composer, and artistic director. This original show sold out its home town premiere and transferred to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. 1,000 Suns would go on to enjoy further development as well as being licensed out to amateur companies, and revived professionally at The Fringe the following year. My work at VF Theatre Co. helped secure me a scholarship to pursue theatre production at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts where I spent two years of a fast-track degree. I received an education in all aspects of theatre production: stage and project management, lighting and sound design and operation, carpentry, scenic art, prop making, and scenic and costume design which I would go on to specialise in. I worked on a large number of productions while at Mountview, culminating with a lead designer role on Tennessee Williams' "The Notebook of Trigorin" at The Cockpit Theatre, London.Since graduating I have worked freelance as an art director and scenic painter on a number of productions, music videos, and live events and as an illustrator and graphic designer for production companies and music artists. As a writer and composer I have produced three further theatrical scripts, a novel, and two music EP's under the pseudonym Joe Hythe. Working as a music artist has allowed me to bring all my skills to bear on a single project: art direction, project management, writing, composing, music production, illustration, and marketing.
