After seventeen years as a manufacture sales representative in the furniture industry decided to put an iron in the fire for myself by opening Flanagan Furniture and Mattress in 1996. Built to five stores averaging three thousand square feet. Took a financial hit around 2007 and scaled back to one five thousand square foot store. Could have folded up like a beach chair at the end of the summer and disappeared, but chose to keep on keepin' on. Still swinging for the fences and draining the three point jump shot. And, just added 2500 sq ft for upholstery.

Started in New England with this leading manufacturer of stationary and reclining furniture.After sixty days offered and accepted a promotion to cover the (Seattle) Washington State territory which included the panhandle of Idaho.

Presented and placed top shelf state of the art furniture touch up, repair and finishing products for the end user which are furniture stores, furniture manufacturers, cabinet shops, refinishing shops hotels, motels and other businesses which have a need to touch up, repair and refinish furniture. Once products placed, responsible for continuous followup training on the proper use of all products. Good solid training always produced an increase in sales.

When graduated from high school decided to put an iron in the fire for myself and younger brothers. Started a driveway seal coat business with a four hundred dollar pickup truck, a couple of squeegees, a heavy bristled street broom and a five gallon bucket of asphalt sealer. Knocked on a few doors and ran a few ads. The business lasted for me and my younger brothers through college graduation for all.
