Leading groups of inner city kids on outdoor adventures! Providing a fully immersive experience for kids in Cleveland to see the full breath of the fun that can be had in our metroparks system. Everything from hiking, biking, fishing, archery, kayaking, stewardship and so much more! We have monthly outings year round with recurring groups and develop relationships with the kids and families by progressing them through more challenging outdoor activities and breking a lot of barriers in the process

Compost Processing - 2+ years power skid steer/Front loader operator experience. Compost pile building and managing management Recorded daily pile data on temp/moisture/volume/# of turns. Screened Compost with vibrating deck and trommel screener to ½ and ⅜ in for potting soil blends. Tilth Soil Production - Made batches of potting soil mix(w/compost and locally sourced organic amendments). Bagged, packaged and hauled material for sale. Set up and conducted Compost/Soil Mix Bioassays comparing other organic soil brands, and new Tilth products

Hauling - serviced clients on a pre optimized route(residential and commercial). Driving a 4 ton, 16 ft long box truck swapping compost bins for our 200+ clientele base. Recorded client pickup data: location/container #/weight/contamination.

OC wants to promote environmental sustainability by exposing the youth to environmental educational opportunities. “While they learn to heal from oppressive societal constructs, become community REIGN Makers, and take the lead as the future green leaders of the world.” Whitnye Long head of OCVolunteered to help coordinate and boost a variety of environmental awareness and stewardship events, adjusted and monitored financial tracking, searching for grants, marketing and networking opportunities to get more people involved

Organized and maintained a group of cleveland students through a summer internship learning about the function and maintenance of rain gardens around cleveland. Horticultural maintenace coupled with environmental education. We beautified and upgraded multiple gardens around the southeast sidebof cleveland. While learning about landscaping as a career we connected it with sustainability efforys throughout the city. Mentoring HS students about career pathways and opening their minds to green jobs. Virtual environmental engagement through Zoom conference activities and breakout group discussion.

A multifaceted team of young environmentalists across many industries based in Cleveland and Detroit. We worked to raise awareness on great lakes water quality issues. Promoting water quality and conservation through policy promotion, joint marathon/beach cleanups, community wide educational activities, Happy hours, meetups, and awarded annual project based grants for up to $1k.

Conducted VIBI/QHEI on many habitats around NE Ohio. Collected, and compiled Hydro-Geomorphic data and Species/cover data in Excel, on emergent, shrub, and forest wetland plant communities across multiple habitats and regions in Northern Ohio for standard EPA assessmentAssisted in intensive ecological inventory at nature preserves, scouting, leading Northeast Ohio Naturalists Hikes/Bio-blitz through preserves, Teaching assistant for OSU Stone Lab+CMNH aquatic vegetation course, mechanical invasive plant control, and deer exclosure construction.Met with landowners, stakeholders, land stewards, ecologists, neighbors, and EPA to discuss land management/use/concerns for future operational funding and land acquisition

The experience I gained here exposed me to the broad range of restoration techniques across a wide range of wetland habitats and how to recognize the morphological characteristics of a wetland. Plants are the most easily recognizable defining feature of wetland quality.Assisted in VIBI for funding a new land acquisition on the east branch of the cuyahoga resevoir.

Assisted in variety of plant ecological research in habitats across North eastern Ohio: Conducted North Carolina(NCVS) studying meadow restoration techniques, habitat succession at Richfield coliseum demo/restoration site, effects of highly invasive Lesser Celandine, Cleveland vacant lot survey on plant succession and seed bank germination analysis, native vs non native urban tree cover and senescence rate, Photosynthetic capability of native vs non-native tree species,  Wetland delineation and report out (QHEI,ORAM),  leaf litter predatory species survey, Presented Research findings at symposiums, weekly meetings, attended local/regional  Environmental science conventions, Led service based learning events with CSU Grounds/ Plant ecology courses.Data Collection/Entry/Analysis, mounting of herbarium samples and input into database
