When Joe LaFrange and Dante Boyer started The Lab World Group one of the company goals was to make sure the company focused on giving back to the community. They were introduced to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) in 2012 and participated in Boston’s Light the Night Walk in 2013. They enjoyed participating in the event and ended up being asked to be on the Executive Leadership Committee for 2014. While the charity work we did for the LLS was from our hearts it has truly blossomed into something more with this event. This has become something both Joe and Dante are passionate about bringing to the next level in order to help people. If you are diagnosed with Leukemia (blood cancer), you have an 80% survival rate. We think it's pretty awesome that we may help cure Leukemia in our lifetime. This has become a truly personal experience. Each week we each donate around 20 hours each to training the fighters and organizing and fund raising for the event. Training the fighters has become a pleasure and truly means something to us. In addition we also have both personal experiences with cancer driving us. Year to date, Lights Out 4 Leukemia has raised over $108,000.00 in name of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society here in Boston, MA.
