Accustomed to working on well-known matters, many of which are charged and notorious, I thrive in intense and high-pressure environments. In my current role as State Attorney in Kane County, Illinois, I represent the public on a variety of civil and criminal matters. In this visibly public role, I manage complex litigation, as well as a budget of more than $11M. Committed to building partnerships and consensus, I developed a nonpartisan coalition that includes members of Congress, the US Department of Justice (DoJ), and the national District Attorneys’ Association to promote diversity and collaboration, and create proactive initiatives following tense times of civil unrest. In addition, I served as lead special prosecutor in the high-profile case of Jason Van Dyke, the former police officer who, in 2018, was convicted of the 2014 murder and aggravated battery of Laquan McDonald.At this juncture in my career, I am eager to lend my expertise and knowledge to a high-growth company as its general counsel.
