My first position in the Steel industry was as a graduate sales trainee at the age of 17.At 21 years old I set up my first business, this I sold 9 years later and re-entered the world of the employed. Rising to Sales Manager within a national chain of steel stockholders ASD plc.After many very happy and successful years the lure of running my own business was large and I was persuaded to go into partnership with a successful South Wales engineering firm to help grow existing base and to establish a stockholding division.This I did very successfully, however after a sour disagreement over shares, I sadly left. This taught me that unfortunately business can no longer be done just on a handshake.I then tried my very best to establish my own concern, however it wasn't meant to be.The single best thing that came from all these years of trials and tribulations was that I got to know intimately the invoice finance industry and I could see the potential it had.In 2014 I entered the finance industry and immediately I knew I had found my niche, my home.I am now a founder and Director of a totally independent and dynamic new brokerage based in Newport and covering the entire UK.I absolutely love my job and I've surrounded myself with the best team of like minded individuals. We all strive to constantly deliver for our clients.My best bit? The fact that having been on the "other side of the fence" I can quickly see issues from both sides of the equation and this makes me perfectly placed to help with solutions.I get a huge buzz from helping businesses.I couldn't quite do it myself but by god I try my hardest to ensure my clients succeed!!!I left school immediately after completing my A level's and I have over the years been well and truly "educated " in the real world!
