Achieved working with other departments and realizing benefits and features to improve workflow.Additional responsibilities, as a member of the Fiber Department: GIS administrator, Server/Database Administrator, programming/web design, general I.T., and Fiber Engineer.GIS Administration, involves the upkeep of the ESRI's Arcmap and Schneider Electric's Arcfm solutions. It was my responsibility to model the data and represent our fiber system, and the transition to web-based and mobile mapping applications. Data from CIS is integrated into the map along with alarm states of field equipment. Created custom tools to take advantage of geometric network tracing and associated data for reporting and visualization.Administrator of servers and databases is responsible for the design and installation of new hardware and virtual devices, as well as the databases needed on those machines. The above GIS is one example of design involving an Oracle database, server software, and web hosting to deploy maps to users. It is also my responsibility to provide backup and recovery solutions, to minimize downtime. Programming and web design involves working with java, javascript, python, and .net (c#). Using these languages I created a scheduling program, outage management, websites organizing equipment and customer ticket data, and many automated tasks for integrating data and reporting. Fiber and telecommunication work focuses on the cable, internet and television services provided to customers. We respond to needs to premise technicians, field workers, and CSRs to insure delivery of fiber service to customer and resolution of problems. We maintain core telecom equipment for fiber distribution as well as the phone switch, satellite receivers, and related hardware. We act as on-call tier 3 support, responding to outages and system events.
