It was a struggle at first, but we pushed through and actually thrived during the pandemic. We grew the sales through grass-roots marketing to nearly double the previous owners. Two of our biggest competitors did not survive the pandemic, so our market steadily grew. I just successfully sold the business and am looking for a new opportunity.Another accomplishment that I am proud of was a demand generation campaign that I ran to and existing base that needed to either upgrade their software and hardware or purchase another brand all together. I worked directly with sales on the target and messaging and rolled out the campaign through a direct mail campaign. I know, I know, direct mail? YES, and it was a great success. I spent a mere $10,000 to get my foot in the door and explained to the users that a new vendor would cost much more than an upgrade and we could offer them a discount.
