Joseph B. Diehl has nearly 55 years of experience in finance, association management and fundraising. He currently provides consulting and coaching services through Diehl & Co. LLC including management of small associations, fee-based speaking engagements, fundraising, auctioneering and facilitating leadership retreats - www.joediehl.com. He offers one-on-one and group coaching as a part of his personal mission: "to inspire and empower others who share my beliefs and core values." In 2014-2015, 2017-2019, and again in 2023-2024 - he contracted with the National American Indian Housing Council (NAIHC) in Washington DC. Joe has provided contract and consulting services to Northwest Indian Housing Association, AHMA of WA and the Affordable Rural Housing Council (among others) as Diehl & Co. LLC. Joe graduated from Northern Illinois University in 1971 with a BS in Accountancy, and from UIC-Law School in Chicago in 1979 with a Juris Doctor degree. He passed the national CPA Examination in 1974 and the Illinois Bar Examination in 1979. For the first 20 years of his career, he served in a variety of Audit Supervisor, Controller and CFO positions, with a focus on real estate investment, limited partnerships and REITs. Employers included KPMG Peat Marwick, JMB Realty Corporation, Heitman Mortgage Investors (all in Chicago), Icahn & Co. (New York) and TCW Realty Advisors (Los Angeles).During the most recent 35 years, Joe has focused all of his efforts on serving nonprofit organizations and populations in need. He became Executive Director for membership associations both at the national level and locally, in the Pacific Northwest. Joe currently volunteers at: Friends of Magnuson Park (Treasurer) and Southeast Effective Development (Independent CPA/Member of the Audit Committee). Joe also began a crusade to improve not only his health - but the health of others be becoming a Functional Medicine Certified Coach (Functional Medicine Coaching Academy - Institute for Functional Medicine).
