I’ve been in the IT industry for 25+ years. I love that technology is constantly changing and providing new challenges — pushing me to learn and absorb more each day. Like many in the technology space, I started at the bottom and worked my way up. Doing basic support at the start of my career helped me learn troubleshooting skills that would have been difficult to gain otherwise, providing a strong foundation for all things technology — something a lot of newer consultants tend to think is remedial. I eventually moved into consulting myself and in 2010 became a Solutions Architect at Ensynch, eventually moving into a Principal Architect role.In 2011, Ensynch was acquired by Insight, and it was here that I really pushed myself to be seen as a leader in the technology space. I wanted to help my clients understand all the benefits of technology — from a technical and roadmap perspective. In early 2019 I was promoted to Director of Technical Architecture for the Connected Workforce team at Insight. This team helps our clients connect their workforces and empower their teams with the technology needed to work smarter. At the end of the day, I am proud that I get to work with people who are trusted as a technical resource, not only to our clients, but internal teammates. Working for a vendor-agnostic company, I can truly recommend to the client what will be the best value add to their business. I think that more people need to realize that their personal preference may not always be the right decision for the client. I consider myself a champion across many technologies and while sharing knowledge is not a “project” that someone works on, it should be a continued mindset in the workplace. I’m passionate about technology and the business outcomes that it can provide.
