Director of Engineering for 800 person Engineering Organization comprised of hardware, software, systems and program engineers across ten regional locations including one international location. Engineering portfolio includes a wide variety of defense systems and products, These include such things as avionics, podded systems, counter IED, munitions, air traffic control, radar, fire control, training and border surveillance systems for a wide variety of domestic and international customers

• Responsible for multi-program business area with bookings in excess of $ 70M per yea • Fee rate greater than 30% with positive $10M cash position achieved through use of multi-year procurement CFRs, multi-customer combined buys, accelerating delivery schedules, and aggressively negotiated and flawlessly executed performance based payment program• Led development and marketing of new Under Sea Forcenet technologies winning an ONR Rapid Technology Transition Program and an OSD Foreign Comparative Test Program• Personal technical contribution demonstrated by buoy technology patent submission

• Overall P&L responsibility for $300M HDR Submarine Satellite Communications Program from qualification test through LRIP and first years of production deliveries• Received exceptional “purple” CPAR for program management from customer• System includes EHF TWT, SHF solid state amplifier, receive electronics and 16-inch three axis controlled parabolic tracking antenna. Extreme environmental requirements included 100G shock, 1000 PSI pressure and tight IR detection specifications • Customers include U.S. Navy with Canada, U.K. and Australia buying through the FMS process• Significant technical leadership component including development of process for repairing delaminating radomes saving the company approximately $6M in radome replacement costs
