Command a civil affairs team consisting of four personnel. Develop team and execute training in accordance with published training calendars, schedules, and guidance. Responsible for morale, safety, timely evaluations, and professional development of all assigned personnel. Account for personnel readiness and maintain all assigned equipment totaling over $1 million. If mobilized, ensure that the team, or elements thereof, provide regionally oriented civil-military operational support of the maneuver commander.

Train and mentor all direct-subordinates to include platoon sergeants, platoon leaders, five full-time staff, and civilians under guidance from the 334 Quartermaster Battalion. Understand and brief all the logistical and strategic goals of multi-week outdoor expeditions to multiple teams of expedition leaders. Coordinate and implement three consecutive weeks of training curriculum to equip staff in interpersonal and technical skills. Teach all the key components program philosophy, ensuring clear communication and understanding through written checks-on-learning and one-on-one conversations with staff. Debrief leadership teams after conclusion of expeditions to draw out any learning and provide clear and constructive feedback to ensure the continual betterment of the program.Maintain public relations with local municipalities, adjacent property owners and forest rangers. Lead the resolution of complex program or administrative issues to include managing transportation needs for clients and expedition leaders, acquiring permits from multiple entities while complying with a variety of land-use rules and regulations, managing staffing shortages because of unexpected challenges. Maintain operating standards within the guidance of the Center for Disease Control and New York State Department of Health throughout COVID pandemic.Coordinate all logistics for crises as needed to include, but not limited to, complex evacuation for injured individuals over miles or wilderness terrain, coordination with state park staff for helicopter evacuations, fast and decisive management of positive COVID cases in a dynamic system. Assess effectiveness and recommend improvement of program and operational processes and systems encompassing difficult and diverse issues that affect aspects of crisis operation policy and operational functions.

Responsible for the safety, learning and development of 8 to 10 clients on multiple 12-day wilderness expeditions. Facilitate team development with individuals from diverse backgrounds and beliefs. Model leadership values and empower clients to assume more responsibility in correlation with their growth in outdoor competencies. Led over 120 days of wilderness expeditions in the Adirondack mountains as the senior wilderness guide.

Serve as the Adventure Camp registrar in accurately compiling hundreds of camper records to ensure a streamlined registration process. Assist the La Vida Executive Director in ropes course maintenance to include large tree removal, high ropes course repair, and construction of team-building elements. Assist the La Vida Director of Outdoor Education in marketing the program to outside organizations and individuals resulting in successful summer expeditions during.

Empower students through thorough education and practical experiences to lead effectively in the outdoors. Develop student competency in trip planning, risk management, and communication. Oversee multiple overnight expeditions throughout the semester and evaluate leadership potential in a wide range of student abilities.

Facilitate challenge course experiences with student groups to develop communication and proficiency in team work. Ensure a physically and emotionally safe learning environment that encouraged personal growth in students. Adapt ropes course educational programming to match the groups assessed needs and goals.

Oversee Gordon College's student transportation through managing over 15 student drivers and staffMaintain and develop local shuttle service including all airport transportation for incoming and outgoing students. Create operational policies to ensure clarity for drivers and rides.
