When this technology distributor added equipments for the enterprise market to its product line, I was recruited to manage business development and pre-sales for NetApp storage. In this position, I begun identifying strategic vendors to develop complementary and interoperable storage solutions, achieving successfully partnering with CommVault and DataDomain. These management, pre-sales and post-sales roles made me wear different hats and manage new challenges day by day.My duties included:•Develop sales opportunities within accounts. Provide detailed evaluation of opportunities, task plans, competitive analysis and technical approaches for projects. •Interact with customers to gain a deep understanding of their needs by applying consultative selling techniques. Based on the customer's business and technical requirements, develop and propose fully integrated solutions to meet customer and sales objectives.•Create and deliver high-impact technical and sales presentations to technical and executive audiences. •Conduct architecture discussions, remove objections that may arise in a sales process and detect issues that may affect customer satisfaction or revenue attainment. •Establish position in relation with competition, articulate the unique values of the products and services offered, and quantify the financial benefits derived from choosing the proposed solution. •Ensure that proposed solution when implemented meet the needs and functional requirements of the customer. Conduct proof-of-concept sessions to demonstrate solution technical fit.•Generate quotes and configurations. Edit proposals and approve their technical content.•Develop the implementation plan. Define project deliverables and schedules. Support the installation, customization, integration and testing of the solution. •Using technical and business consultative leadership, build successful relationships with distributors, customers, and prospects, becoming their trusted advisor.

In this position, I was responsible for:•Identifying requirements, designing, and implementing storage solutions ensuring SLAs accomplishment.•Establish the design criteria of a new data center that exceeds "Tier 3" of TIA-942 standard.•Provide technical advice in the design, installation, configuration, implementation, and Physical-To-Virtual migrations of VMware infrastructure. Help to document best practices in developing and deploying VMware solutions.From the functional and organizational points of view, my roles were: •“Salesman” to promote the projects within management.•“Organizer” to make them happen. •“Mediator” to achieve that different sectors with their own cultures, issues and interests share the necessary resources and information. Finally, my regular duties included: •Establishing and maintaining proper relationships with vendors.•Evaluating upcoming technologies.•Determining when and how to apply them to solve business problems.•Lead its proof of concept testing.•Ensuring that deployed technologies have appropriate levels of reliability, scalability, and serviceability while minimizing opex and capex.

Some achievements:•Replaced the legacy backup system by an enterprise scale IBM Tivoli Storage Manager backup environment. Designed and installed the solution. Mentor, lead, and motivate a staff of 6 backup operators.•Pioneer the first SAN in Uruguay, installing two replicated HP ESA12000. As one of two administrators, maintained this environment with an achieved availability for 99.99% uptime. •Day to day administration of the ARCserve 2000 backup environment. Supervised a staff of 6 backup operators.•Administered a server farm with file and application servers. Migrated NetWare servers to Windows NT and 2000. Provided end-user and advanced level support.

As a model of success for client satisfaction, Didacta became Lotus Authorized Education Center, IBM Education Center, SCO Training Center, Lotus Business Partner, IBM Business Partner and Microsoft Certified Solution Provider.As co-founder of Didacta, I was responsible for writing and implementing the business plan, transitioning new venture from concept to a successful business enterprise.
