I'm a Product Leader with experience working cross-functionally with business roles (e.g. Marketing, Finance, Sales), technical roles (e.g. Backend and front-end engineers, data scientists) as well as designers and UX researchers to bring products to life that make our customer problems and pain-points go away! Or better yet, see customers discover something new that they never knew they needed before. I have experience working with Web and Mobile products, and I'm a data obsessed nerd. I absolutely love discovering insights from data, using those insights to inform a new feature or experience in my product, building that change, and seeing the results. It's magical!As a product manager I have to wear different hats every day and I excel at working cross-functionally. My experience and feedback has taught me that I bring value to the teams I work with because:- I start by building empathy with my customers. It is SO important to listen to your customers, understand their pain points and their needs, and figure out the why behind their behaviors before building anything. In many ways I am self deprecating because I always assume I know nothing, and go straight to customers to learn more, validate my assumptions, and listen. Understanding the customer need and ensuring your product solves that need is crucial. - I become an expert in the market that I am operating in. That includes understanding what competitors exist, what they do well and what they don't do well, what macro trends are impacting everyone, how my product fits in and what our advantage is, and incorporate that into my product strategy and roadmap. - I bring business stakeholders along for the ride. That involves being able to communicate in an elegant but simple way to help explain what the product vision is, why it's important for the business to pursue that vision, and what I need to from them make that it a reality. Having a good idea is half the battle, bringing folks along for the ride is how you get there. - I get my hands dirty. Need me to write user stories? Done. Need me to help create marketing content to launch the product? Done. Need me talk with 10 executives individually to get them on board? Count me in. To the scrappiest go the spoils.
