I am currently a second-year Civil Engineering student at the University of Florida. Throughout my time at UF, I have placed my focus on investing myself in the civil and transportation industry by developing technical skills and practicing my ability to lead and communicate.During the summer of 2024, I was a Civil Engineering intern for Bowman Consulting Group in Tampa, Florida. This experience greatly excelled me into the world of engineering and the land development industry. I was able to use Autodesk Civil3D and Bluebeam Revu in a professional setting to contribute to projects in meaningful ways, both on my own and alongside a team of talented engineers. I was given experience in project management through due diligence research, attendance of meetings with city, county and state level jurisdictions, and by following the example of the project managers that led our team.As a member of the UF American Society of Civil Engineers chapter, I have been able to involve myself with a great number of talented peers, alumni, and industry professionals that have pushed me to be a better engineer. This has shown itself best through my time with UF Concrete Canoe. As a technician, I helped construct a boat that would eventually be awarded National Champion at the 2024 ASCE Civil Engineering Student Championship at BYU. This year, I have taken on a role as captain, so I hope to repeat the same success while encouraging collaboration and growth through my leadership position.Moving forward, I want to contribute the bright future of civil and transportation engineering. Smarter, safer, cleaner and equitable innovations to how we move people and goods are what drive me to work hard at whatever is in front of me.
