Project Manager - Owners Representative
CurrentRepresented the owner’s interest in the $170m Santan Mountain Casino for the Gila River Community. Occasionally the needs of the project swing far outside the usual scope of Construction Management responsibilities. As our fast-track construction of the Casino began to outpace the availability of the Community infrastructure, we took action . Gila River irrigation water was repurposed for construction water.A 1200ft water well was drilled. We developed an on-site temporary potable water treatment system with a 700,000 gallon “lake tank”, pumps, treatment systems, reverse osmosis, and 200,000 gallons of potable water stored in NSF61 tanks. A compressed mechanical systems startup and commissioning schedule overlapped fine finishes and slot machine installations.Power, wastewater, and information technology utilities were coordinated ‘just in time” to support the project phasing. Intense focus was applied to the complex gaming systems. As the Gila River Gaming Enterprise designed and procured their components, the IDF/MDF power, cooling, and cabling infrastructures were coordinated and installed. Equipment racks were prebuilt offsite, systems loaded and tested prior to installation in the field.
