Stark is a company that leads with a spirit of gratefulness and a belief in abundance. As I believe as they believe, I eagerly joined the team. My proudest accomplishment is the 2020 wholesale evolution of this 100-year old trusted and respected brand. With two direct reports, I led the interdepartmental project to focus and modernize our story and iconography. In eleven short months, we hired two external brand management firms, surveyed our entire company, performed focus groups, developed archetypal branding, refreshed 200 independent contractor/Realtor photos and applied the new brand to all our vehicles. We collectively celebrated the achievement of all deadlines exceeded. Of course, there is much more to tell of my Stark story that includes co-leading the launch of a new CRM just six-months after my start date, but that can wait.

As the organization's first Communications and Marketing Director, I was responsible for strategically increasing our voice and presence in the community—particularly the business community. Using social and digital media, our B2B engagement exploded. We soon brought on a digital media company for hands-on support. During my tenure, I was the executive producer of various live stage shows that included multiple speakers, multiple stages, videos, animations, live voting audiences and an international Google Hangout presentation for crowds as large as 1,000.

This role was heavy on planning and cross-department communication. I provided communications planning and creative support to simplify complex topics for the Information Technology (IT) Division and later, the Human Resources Division. We used multimedia tools within our blogs, website, 1,000-person divisional meetings and internal social media vehicles to engage with 7200 employees across 19 states. Our intranet site was treated as a news outlet with daily updates of fresh, lively content.

As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, I created and executed the marketing strategy for our four-state region with 400 employees and 900 volunteers. I led a creative team of eight and together we launched a data-based strategy for the organization’s first competitive threat while protecting the second most recognizable brand in the nation. Our team was picked by headquarters to run the organization’s first customer segmentation project.

Each of my roles within cable began without a job description; each, I had to develop from scratch as the first in the company. On the advertising team, I created and implemented sponsorships and TV ads to increase revenue. At the district and regional levels, I developed and executed communications strategies, brought national cable shows and events to local venues and held teach-the-teacher sessions while rebranding twice due to ownership changes. At the region, I supervised a Video Producer and had four dotted-line reports across two states. I take pride in the fact that each role became a permanent position in other parts of the company.
