I am an experienced startup and venture capital attorney. My practice focuses on representing tech companies, strategic investors, and venture capital firms on corporate and transactional matters in a variety of industries, including AI, software/SaaS, hardware, healthcare, and financial technology. My representation of companies spans every stage of their corporate lifecycle, including incorporation, general corporate representation and counseling, venture capital financings, and mergers and acquisitions. My representation of investors includes seed through growth stage financings.I am also an Adjunct Professor at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, where I teach Venture Law: Forming, Financing, and Selling a Startup, and guide law students as a Supervising Attorney at the Entrepreneurial Law Clinic at the University of Colorado Law School. Prior to joining Goodwin, I worked as an attorney at a boutique firm in Denver, CO advising growing, innovative companies on corporate and commercial legal matters, and as an associate within a national design and fabrication firm headquartered near Detroit, MI which developed exhibits displayed by technology and automotive companies. These experiences solidified my interest in working with clients developing new technology and business models.I received my JD from the University of Wisconsin Law School, and my BA from the University of Michigan (Go Blue!) where I studied Political Science and Philosophy.I enjoy living in Denver with my wife and two young sons. Most of my time out of the office is happily spent parenting and working with my wife around our Wash Park house. When I can sneak it in, I enjoy snow skiing, water skiing, reading, hiking, and running. It is a thrill to get my sons on the slopes and behind the boat.
