Retiring early from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) at the rank of Sergeant in March 2021, I am currently working on my PhD (law) dissertation at Western University, located in London, Ontario, Canada. For my dissertation, I am using science fiction to explore legal issues with emerging technologies (like the potential pitfalls) as possible with commercialization of outer space, artificial intelligence, conflicts in space, biotech and life extension, etc. I have completed all my PhD coursework.I am a lawyer, called to the bar of Ontario, Canada, in 2011. I hold degrees in law (J.D., 2010, Western), journalism (M.A., 2000, Western), and history (B.A. 1st Class Honours, 1999, Brock). I have fulfilled my PhD residency requirement and can work on my dissertation anywhere I can access the Internet.
