• Responsible for initiating efforts across multiple offices tp develop new engineering service lines.• Directed fire protection engineering efforts on behalf of the authority having jurisdiction for many of the largest buildings in the built environment, including the following:+ Londoner Macao – a US$2.1 billion renovation consisting of over 70 individual projects throughout an existing 13.8 million square foot property.+ Macau Studio City Phase 2 – a US$1.4 billion project with a 1 million square feet extension of an existing property with two additional hotel towers.• Project manager for professional services of many of the largest structures in today’s built environment. Manages permanent and temporary staff and coordinates an effort that includes design, review, inspection, testing and commissioning for the following building fire protection features: egress, smoke control, fire detection and emergency voice alarm communication and mass notification, automatic sprinkler and standpipe, foam and foam-water suppression systems, gaseous suppression, fuel-gas storage and distribution, fuel-oil storage and distribution, kitchen hood suppression systems, passive fire protection, materials and products. • Performed and supervised the performance-based design and validation of equivalency to provide innovative design solutions for a variety of buildings in different localities around the world. Notable analysis include smoke management, fire and evacuation modeling, and lifeboat elevator egress for super high-rise buildings.

• Directed fire protection engineering efforts on behalf of the authority having jurisdiction for many of the largest buildings in the built environment, including the following:+ MGM Cotai – a US$3 billion project requiring resident engineers and 94 rotating staff, with project size of 3.1 million square feet.+ Wynn Palace – a US$4.1 billion project requiring resident engineers and 19 rotating staff, with a project size of 4.8 million square feet. The project contained 1,706 rooms, suites and villas, a casino, an 8-acre performance lake, gondolas, meeting facilities, spa and salon, 50 retail tenants, and 13 food and beverage units.+ Parisian – a US$2.7 billion project that was certified in parallel with the Wynn Palace. The Parisian includes 3,000 room resort-hotel with 320,000 square feet of retail space, and a half-scale replica of the Eiffel Tower.• Developed on-boarding presentation for rotating staff to establish expectations, responsibilities, processes and procedures.• Developed a workflow procedure for remote offices to perform approximately 1,200 hours yearly of alteration and addition technical reviews of designs for fire protection, and contractor's fire protection and life safety shop drawings. Developed policies and procedures for the engineering work to maintain quality assurance standards and reduce review periods to 5 business days.

• Provided Fire Protection Engineer Designer of Record (FPE DOR) and Fire Protection Specialist / Fire Protection Engineer Quality Control (FPE QC) services for DoD facilities in Guam and Japan to comply with force protection standards, building and fire codes.• Provided interpretation of technical codes and criteria and explain technical guidance both verbally and in writing to a variety of international designers, contractors, and project managers.• Developed fire protection design strategies for acceptance by project stakeholders using both code and performance based approaches as well as other special studies related to specific code compliance issues. • Provided technical engineering guidance and advice to design teams, building owners, and contractors for compliance with local and international fire safety codes and standards, and performance based engineering approaches. • Created 4-hour training course related to sprinkler seismic design, contractor’s shop drawing review, and site inspections. Utilized project based challenges from numerous DoD facilities in Japan and Guam.

• Developed technical design guide and contractor’s shop drawing specifications for ensuring fire and life safety system code compliance, as well as ensuring local jurisdiction requirements were incorporated.• Developed a variety of site inspection, testing, and commissioning documentation to ensure quality assurance and consistency, and the forms were later adopted company-wide.

• Responsible for technical design and contractor’s shop drawing reviews to ensuring code compliance for a wide variety of fire and life safety systems: means of egress, smoke control, fire detection and emergency voice alarm communication, mass notification, automatic sprinkler & standpipe with seismic protection, foam fire-suppression, gaseous suppression, kitchen hood suppression systems, passive fire protection, kitchen grease ducts, materials & products.• Performed the role of Fire Protection Specialist for DoD facilities in Japan for review of contractor’s shop drawings, inspection and testing of fire protection systems.

• Team member for technical design drawing review, inspection, commissioning, and acceptance testing at the Venetian casino complex in Macau, China. • Performed site investigation and pre-design activities for a fire protection system retrofit in a historic federal courthouse.• Conducted performance-based design of smoke management systems and evacuation analyses using computational fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and evacuation models and calculations.

• Created a database of over 8,000 hazardous materials based on International Building Code definitions to facilitate building design and operations, which could reduce project labor requirements by approximately 40 to 60% depending on the facility’s contents.• Built fire and egress models for various performance based designs.• Performed waterflow testing for sprinkler system designs.
