- Create a collaborative environment for community leaders, first response, and local, state, and national organizations to build a county disaster management program.-Manages media, and other external communications channels to communicate and mitigate the effects of any crisis. Designated as Public Information Officer in many communities within Wayne County Ohio.-Problem solving and crisis communication in an often politically sensitive or contentious scenario to meet emergency management objectives between jurisdictions. - Monitor and influence state and local legislation that affect the public safety community.-Coordinates training and funding to build a better public safety response capability through emergency exercises, hazard/risk assessments, and identify training and resource gaps. -Successful grant program applications through FEMA/Homeland Security, and other state and local grants to fund emergency services and mitigation projects. -Infrastructure project management that includes communication tower construction, flood mitigation projects, conversion of flood affected communities to green space which includes demolition and debris management.-Strong written, communication and presentation skills including meeting facilitation for both small and large audiences. Regularly invited to address members of local charitable organizations. -Plan development experience. Responsible for maintaining multiple emergency plans which includes, Emergency Operations Plans, Disaster Mitigation Plan, Hazmat Plan, and the Continuity of Operations Plan. -Currently serves as President Elect for the Emergency Management Association of Ohio with goals to improve emergency management as a profession. -Public engagement on social media to promote disaster preparedness. -Emergency Coordinator for the Local Emergency Planning Committee.-Member of an Advisory Committee for the University of Akron, Emergency Management and Homeland Security Undergraduate Program.
