I am a leader, a strategist, and an eternal optimist. As a non-profit executive, I am driven to deliver results through strong communication and collaboration. I believe a team’s best work is achieved through equal parts talent, hard work, and strong communication (with a little fun mixed in, as well).As the Managing Director of Professional Development at the Society of Actuaries, I lead a team responsible for delivering high quality continuing education opportunities to professionals around the world. These opportunities come in many shapes and sizes, from big (the SOA’s ImpACT Conference is the largest annual actuarial conference in the world) to small (online, on-demand courses for individuals).I first joined the SOA in 2014 as its Health Staff Fellow after having worked for more than a decade as a practicing actuary. I am a frequent speaker at industry meetings and am a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries, and a holder of the Certified Association Executive credential.Outside my professional career, I am passionate about helping others. My family and I foster dogs who have come from difficult backgrounds. I am active in the adoption community and volunteer time regularly with organizations such as ScreenStrong and Feed My Starving Children. I am also a volunteer cross country coach and crossing guard at my children’s school.
