Operations Geologist
Followed 7 drilling rigs in various geological regions over U.S land. Provided risk assessments, workflow procedures, and pre-planning through pre-well modeling using multiple variables. Generated subsurface structure maps/cross-sections using Petra database, to assist in pre-well modeling, geosteering, target zone characterization, and recommendations on landing points. Maintained Petra database, including directional surveys, gamma files, and plans. Mentored new operations geologists in geosteering, Petra, and drilling. Gave technical presentations on new areas of interest, post-well lessons learned, and geological overviews. • Saved company thousands of dollars by providing resistivity interpretations and azimuthal gamma ray geosteering, which were previously done by outside suppliers.• Developed structure maps for Anadarko Basin, which led to a 20% increase in footage drilled in target window and faster drilling for all Anadarko wells. • Participated in planning and drilling first extended lateral in Anadarko basin 100% zone. • Facilitated completion of resteer projects and quality control in Eagleford, Anadarko Basin, Felix acreage, and Powdered River Basin.• Wrote “how-to” documents for Petra to be utilized by new operations geologists.
Geoscientist Ll
I worked with geologists in several companies such as XTO Energy, ATLAS Energy, Energen, Longfellow, Atlantic, Devon, CNX, Gastar to reach geological targets and optimizing productivity. Some of the following tasks I do on a daily basis are as followed.•Conduct a pre-well planning using multiple offsets and also ensure geologist that target are accessible •Optimize wellbore placement in complex horizontal wells with some scenario being less than a 5 foot target window in the Permian basin. •Mitigating non-productive time and maximize hydrocarbon production with penetration rates well above 200ft/hr I have personally steered over 100 plus wells in the following formations Bone Springs, Fayetteville, Woodford, Marcellus, Utica, Oswego, Granite Wash, and in the Mississippian using primary resistivity and azimuthal gamma ray image. Accomplishments: •I steered Woodford shale in the Arkoma Basin for XTO Energy with two runs with a average rop of 65 ft/hr finishing right at 4 days with 98 percent in zone with no nonproductive time. •Recently steered a Bone Springs sand in a 6ft target window in the Permian Basin using Baker Hughes Azitrak tool. We drilled it less than 5 days with a rate of penetration above 100ft/hr with 100 percent in the target window accomplished. •I steered IN THE Fayetteville formation in three days and accomplished 100 percent in the desired formation with no non-productive time.
