When I was sixteen, I started writing for Flanders' leading youth magazine (250.000 readers), distributed via schools. First I wrote reviews about children's books and profiles of children's writers such as Roald Dahl, Jan Terlouw, Thea Beckman, Sue Townsend and Yvonne Keuls. Later I made interviews with tv personalities, travel and history features and profiles of classic adult writers as Willem Elsschot and Tom Lanoye.This was my school of writing.
