Developing structured inspection systems for explosion protected equipment in hazardous areas.Audit Inspection system, register new equipment and create, maintain and update maintenance plans. Quality Control (QC) – Perform QC inspections on new electrical installations in Hazardous locations, done by construction companies that was part of project activities.Area Classification Drawings – Ensuring all fire explosion hazards have been identified and area classification and explosion protected equipment layout drawings are updated.Data entry and database management, with meticulous record-keeping of Certificate of Compliance (COC’s) and Inspection Authority (IA) Certificates from Local ATL’s (Approved Test Laboratories) on all Classified Equipment and Installations.Risk Management – Part of team that reviews task risk assessments on all critical tasks every two years or whenever an incident occurred.

Performing a range of electrical duties including isolation, energizing and distribution switching.Classified Equipment – Inspect, maintain, replace and install explosion protected equipment in hazardous areas according to specialized electrical installation rules and relevant standards.Comply with Electrical Installation rules; adhere to safety procedures and Occupational Health and Safety act. Safety representative duties.Electrical Control Systems – Conduct basic fault finding and repair, install control systems, PLC, SCADA, Profibus, Hardware, Control switches, 525V / 6,6kV motor feeders.Electrical Drawings – Reading and interpreting schematic and technical drawings.Transformers – Maintain transformer breathing systems and conduct basic fault finding on Bucholtz relay, Bus bars and cooling fans.DC Systems – Perform voltage tests, inspections and maintenance on Batteries (battery banks) and Battery chargers.Cables – Conduct tests on low voltage cables. Do cable joints and terminations, connect and disconnect LV cables on electrical equipment.Earthing Systems – Conduct earth bonding tests, Inspect and repair earthing systems, Conduct fault finding on earth systems.Protection Systems – Inspect and clean or replace protection equipment (Overloads, Fuses, Relays, PT’s CT’s).Heaters – Inspect, conduct tests and replace heater elements, thermostats, heat tracing.220V / 380V / 525V Plant & Buildings – Inspect and repair portable and fixed electrical equipment. Conduct fault finding and install electrical systems (Lighting, Socket outlets, Distribution Boards, Earth leakage units and Circuit breakers).Motors – Fault find and repair on Induction, Synchronous, Slip-ring, Universal, Two-speed and DC motors.UPS’s – Assist with repairs and replacements of UPS systems.Variable Speed Drives – Clean and replace VSD's and components on (WEG, Allen Bradley).Lifting Equipment – Overhead crane and mobile crane. Conduct basic rigging tasks.
