Award-winning producer, director, and writer, Johanna has crafted, and assisted in crafting, many compelling, entertaining, and profoundly thought-provoking programs during her 30 years in the business. Her work has received eight Gemini (Canadian equivalent of an Emmy) nominations and taken home three awards. On top of Directing and Co-producing Livestream broadcasts from locations around the world, Johanna has been immersed in the When You Die Project (WYD), which she created. When You Die seeks to raise awareness about death and dying. It includes a podcast, website resources and original content. In tandem with this project are a suite of documentaries. The first, In The Realm Of Death & Dreaming explores whether consciousness survives death and was released late 2021. The second, Saying Goodbye: Preparing for Death, will be released int the Fall of 2022. She has worked as Director of Programming for Alliance Atlantis and played a key role in the launch of IFC—The Independent Film Channel Canada. Prior to that, Johanna was Head of Independent Production for CTV, Canada’s #1 network. She created View-finders (AKA ScreenScene), the first competitive international children’s film festival in English-speaking Canada, and was Artistic Director of the Atlantic Film Festival.
