I am currently a Senior at Indiana University studying Law and Public Policy. As an individual who has benefited greatly from the United States' public school system, I have developed an immense interest in its wellbeing and effectiveness. This has also lead me to become enthusiastic with regards to local, state, and federal government. I hope to work in some level of government where I can not only protect public education, but also improve the United States governmental apparatus as a whole. More than anything, I want to understand why the United States flaws occur. Why have American student’s test scores been dropping since the 1950s? Why, after years of fighting for equal rights, is there still racial animosity in the United States'? After I understand these obstacles, I hope to attempt to right these wrongs so that all citizens of the United States can live a life more synonymous with our shared goals of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Based on the interests listed above I have dedicated my life to accumulating the academic skills needed to answer these questions. In college I have elected to take a series of rigorous courses so I complete this goal. Such classes include micron-economics, policy analysis, and comparative and international policies.
