Facilities Technician
CurrentPerform building support and light maintenance for Facilities Division in several City of Eden Prairie sites (primarily EP Community Center) using Motorola APX radios for co-worker comms, answering front-desk requests or coordinating staff/patron needs. Assist full-time personnel with repairs and ongoing projects.Drive, refuel & maintain several models of Zamboni ice resurfacers on three hockey/skating rinks; set up nets and equipment per coach requests. Perform state-mandated air-quality tests on CO or NO2 as relates to Zamboni or building heating systems.Open building in early morning or close building late at night, depending on schedule, during 4am-12am possible staffing hours. Set up rental rooms for weekly meetings, daily parties or large special events. Note, photo-document, fix, and/or report problems with all building systems, enter problems requiring escalation to electrician- or HVAC-level Engineering positions into FMX tracking tool. Cleaning/minor repair of multiple pool vacuums (return small items patrons lost). Test pool chemistry daily, reset pool systems after patron accidents. Create, update, distribute equipment logging forms in Excel (ice resurfacing equipment, compressor rooms data logging, pool maintenance and chemical testing). Coordinate with third-party contractors, other EP City or on-call personnel as the situation requires. Created db framework to collect building OSHA chemical inventory & perform building component monthly inspections. Software: Tutor staff on Microsoft Office 365 Access, Word, Outlook, Calendar, Excel, and Teams. Fluent with desktop and mobile versions of both FMX (Facilities Management eXpress) and WhenIWork shift management systems. ArcGIS/ArcMap, City of EP maps) Communications: Motorola APX7000 Radios with lapel mic and earpiece under high-noise-reduction PPE earmuffs) to talk to multiple co-workers, public-facing customer service, and roving Ice Rink Coordinator personnel during hockey tournaments.
