As Business Librarian, I serve as the library's primary liaison with the local business community, select our business, economics, and management titles, and develop in-library and virtual programming on business and financial literacy topics, and increase public awareness of the library's business reference appointments, resources, mentorship through SCORE, and job counseling services. Provide reference services and technical support assistance using public computer workstations to patrons in a busy reference department in Chicago's North ShoreAccomplishments- Developed a User Experience (UX) survey with staff across multiple departments to evaluate patron satisfaction with the library's online programming platform, and delivered a presentation outlining the results and recommendations to management.

Graduate assistantship in the NEIU main campus and El Centro campus libraries; provide in-person and virtual library reference services to NEIU campus and community users.

Collaborated with ALA member leaders in the development of outreach programming and resources in support of local library staff and stakeholders’ efforts to address information needs of traditionally underserved populations; Administers communication efforts for the Office, including press release preparation, Web pages, ALA Connect communities, blogs, and social networking tools; develops resources and promotional materials; shares in liaison responsibilities; and assists in planning of special events.Accomplishments:Collaborated with experts on a highly successful series of toolkits geared towards improving and promoting library outreach services.Planned and executed major and highly visible events at ALA conferences, including the Coretta Scott King Book Awards Breakfast, the Dr. Martin Luther King Sunrise Celebration and the Jean E. Coordinated the ALA Diversity & Outreach Fair, which highlights the best in diversity and outreach programs in the library profession during ALA’s Annual Conference each year featuring 25-30 institutions from across the country. Secured at least $10,000 in financial support for outreach events and initiatives from sponsors annually. Served as staff liaison for the Coretta Scott King Book Awards and the Stonewall Book Awards, two of ALA’s most visible and prestigious awards for literature, generating over $100,000 a year in revenue through seals sales. Served as primary communications counsel to an Office serving three national-level committees and four Association Round Tables, coordinating press interviews and nationwide public awareness events including National Bookmobile Day. Staff liaison to four ALA Round Tables (EMIERT, GLBTRT, SRRT, and SustainRT); all four groups were notable growth leaders in membership and revenue during challenging economic times.

Student internship involving measurement and metadata description of historic newsphoto holdings from 1920s-1970s per RDA guidelines; creation and cataloging of records both in OCLC Connexion and WorldShare local ILS; and addition of digitized images and photo metadata to ContentDM.
