John Anderson: joined the fire service in 1961 at Lacey Fire Department in Lacey. Washington. While at Lacey he earned the ranks of Lieutenant, Captain, Training Officer, Asst. Chief and Fire Marshal. He was a member of the USAF Reserves (Fire Protection Specialist in Crash Rescue Firefighting, called to active duty during the Pueblo Crisis and was then honorably discharged.John was assigned to the National Fire Academy at its starting as a training analyst to assist in the development of curriculum planning. He was also an adjunct instructor for the Academy teaching computer courses and Juvenile Fire-setter intervention programs. In 1979 to 1985 he served as Director of Washington State Fire Service Training, providing fire training programs throughout Washington State managing and directing 60 professional instructors. In 1986 he was promoted to Administrator of Fire Service Training. In 1996 John took a position with the Washington State Patrol as Assistant State Fire Marshal. John retired from the Fire Marshal’s office and has been employed by the owners of FireRMS since 1998 holding positions as senior technical writer, project manager, and training manager.John has served on numerous state and national fire service related committees including: NFIRS Board of Directors, Board of Governors for the National Fire Service Accreditation, International Association of Fire Investigators, National Association of State Fire Marshals, Washington Fire Chiefs Association, Washington Fire Marshal’s Association and many others.John currently had retired as the Training Manager of RescueNet Fire programs at ZOLL He is married to Glenda Anderson and has 2 children and 6 grandkids.
