I am a mentor and and former director with Kilfinan Australia which started operating in February 2014. Inspired by the Kilfinan Group in the UK, established in 2003 by Sky plc Chairman Nicholas Ferguson CBE, Kilfinan Australia now has mentors and mentees in Melbourne, Sydney, Perth, Hobart and Auckland in New Zealand. It pairs charity chief executives with mentors from the private sector, the majority of whom are (or were) chief executives or chairs. The Australian Group now has more than 200 senior business people working as mentors with not for profit CEOs.

Oriel Services is a disability services provider delivering supported employment, employment services, and housing in the Northern Region of Melbourne. I became involved as a volunteer mentor to the board as part of a Leadership Victoria program to assist disability organisations needing to prepare for roll-out of the NDIS. Was asked to join the board and became Chairman in early 2017. We recognised we were not going to be sustainable in the new environment. In addition, our CEO was retiring in June, 2017. I took over as interim CEO and directed the efforts to find a suitable merger partner to take over our operations. We have now merged with the Bedford Group, one of Australia's largest disability employers and have achieved our objective of full employment of all of our staff and client personnel. We wound up up Oriel Services in early 2018

Interchange is a not-for-profit organisation which supports agencies who offer volunteer supported services that provide family respite and social opportunities for children and young people with a disability. Interchange agencies also offer a range of volunteering opportunitiesthat supports children and young people with a disability.
