As an aspiring architect from Accra, Ghana, I am passionate about addressing climate change through eco-friendly and innovative architectural strategies. My research in the Kutunse environs revealed that traditional masonry techniques contribute to increased heat levels in buildings, leading to discomfort and health issues.To combat this, I aim to design sustainable buildings that reduce the impact of climate change. My proposed solutions include using wood shakes, slates, and clay tiles for roofing, strategic window placements, high ceilings for natural airflow, reflective roofs, and planting vegetation around buildings for natural shade and cooling. These eco-friendly designs can significantly improve living conditions and mitigate the effects of climate change.
