I redesigned a GP-led Covid-19 home visiting service to a paramedic-led multidisciplinary team called the Acute Visiting & Frailty Review Services. The team had 3 paramedics, 1 physician associate, and a care coordinator. The two services included both an acute home visiting service and telephone triage reviews for severely frail housebound patients in West Wirral.

I worked in local GP surgeries, operating either telephone or face-to-face consultations - managing acute illnesses.

I developed a new acute home visiting service for Brighter Birkenhead Primary Care Network (PCN). This became a very valuable service to the public, as I managed to establish just as the first Covid-19 lockdown started in March 2020.

I delivered a care home visiting service and operated in an urgent treatment centre in South Sefton, Merseyside. I assessed and managed urgent/primary care patients, with undiagnosed undifferentiated illnesses.

Co-located at Claughton Medical Centre, Birkenhead. Operated in primary care and networked with local community organisations. Reduced unnecessary GP visits, 999 calls, and hospital admissions.

Applied venepuncture blood samples from appointed patients, whist operating on hospital wards, outpatient departments, GP surgeries, and domiciliary home visits.

I joined the Royal Army Medical Corps and completed basic training at Lichfield, then subsequently passed trade training in Aldershot. I was then posted to Munster, Germany, with 1 Close Support Medical Regiment. I worked in emergency and primary care, which involved various settings such as battlefield ambulances, dressing stations, and medical centres. In March 2003, I deployed on 'Operation Telic' (invasion of Iraq) attached to the Black Watch Battlegroup. I also served on UN tours across Kosovo, Macedonia, Bosnia, Croatia, as well as training exercises in the Netherlands, Denmark, and Canada. My final year in the military was based in Northern Ireland.
