Determine the appropriate ratings and performance requirements from Tendering Specification and check the equipment being supplied complies with the customer’s switchgear specificationsEnsure the operational and performance requirements of the customer’s application are complied with by the appropriate HSS equipment.Issue detailed Engineering Specifications for the Mechanical and Electrical Draughtsmen, Manufacturing and Procurement departments for the Switchgear, and design simple relay protection and substation control schemes.Create and issue Purchase Order Requisitions for relays and other ancillary equipment as required to meet the requirements of the Engineering Specification.Liaise directly with customer’s engineers on all technical matters relating to the specific contractDesign and produce internal software schemes where required to enable the overall scheme to function.Provide technical assistance to Production and Test Department when required.The attitude and will to participate in meeting Departmental targets and deadlinesActively support other team members and help develop their skills.Self-motivated with positive attitude to meet deadlines and be able to work on own initiative with minimum supervision.Ability to communicate effectively across all departments at all levels, in order to liaise from contract to completion, and to engage in Departmental policy discussions.Have a flexible approach to working schedules and ability to deal with multiple Customers.A problem solver supporting other team members with a methodical approach to produce accurate and detailed answers.Positive attitude in developing additional comprehensive product knowledge, and to the training of others to develop these engineering skills.Working knowledge of lean six sigma to the level green belt.Participate in ECN process as the Engineering representative.Participate in MRB process to review and correct process errors and remove non-added value activities.
